Ami is a word processor for Microsoft Windows 2. Ami was one of the first commercial word processor for Microsoft Windows, introduced about a year prior to Microsoft Word for Windows. SAMNA was bought by Lotus, where it became Lotus Ami Pro.
AMI features true what-you-see-is-what-you-get document editing, with formatting features that resemble that of desktop publishing tools. It also supports draft mode editing for better responsiveness.
Allegedly Palantir WinText was the first for Windows in 1987, and NBI Legend released about the same time. Microsoft Word 1.0 for Windows was not released until November 1989.
Ami Professional includes more features such as Charting, Drawing, and Table of Contents/Index tools.
This program will run on Windows 2.x and 3.x (with error message).
