Photoshop 3.x
Photoshop is a powerful drawing and photo manipulation program for both Mac and Windows. The Macintosh version was released by Adobe in 1990, although a very small number were bundled with Barneyscan slide scanners prior to that. Photoshop contained many advanced features including layered images, advanced color control, and plug-ins. Prior to its release, many of its features were only found in high end dedicated photo pre-processing systems.
When it was brought to the Windows platform from the Macintosh in 1993 it initially competed against Micrografx Picture Publisher. Over the years, It competed with many other image editors such as Paint Shop Pro.
It was considered the number one leader in advanced image editing until Adobe moved to a so-called "cloud" based subscription model.

Released on September 1994 for the Mac, and November 1994 for Windows, IRIX, and Solaris, Photoshop 3.0 was a significant step forward. It revised the user interface adding tabbed pallets, Layers, and functionality for custom filters.
Photoshop 3.0.4 is a 32-bit application designed to run under Windows 3.1 with Win32s, Windows 95, or Windows NT.
Photoshop 3.0.5 adds system level improvements specific to Windows 95 and NT. It adds support for OLE 2, drag -and-drop, and multithreading. The Windows version is still a Win32s application and can run under Windows 3.1 with Win32s.
Wanted: Irix and Solaris versions.
Installation instructions
This is the first Windows 32-bit version, it is designed to run under both Windows 3.1 with Win32s and Windows NT.
Note: it is possible that some early "3.00" CDs might incorrectly have a beta expiration date. From one source: "Adobe Photoshop 3.0 was released to the public November 1994. The initial shipment of 3.0 CDs - the beta expiration code was still in the binaries. Adobe within days released a simple patch making the MAC & Win versions 3.0.1. This update fixes a problem with an expiration time constraint in Photoshop 3.0, preventing the application from being used prior to January 1, 1994 or after December 31, 1994."
